KUALA LUMPUR: ETI Tech Corporation Bhd is entering into a partnership with Sirim Bhd to develop testing technology and safety approval standards for medium-to-high power lithium-based battery for various industry applications in the domestic as well as international markets. In a statement yesterday, ETI Tech said its subsidiary ETI Tech (M) Sdn Bhd and Sirim had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the proposed partnership.
ETI Tech said it recently became the first company to introduce lithium-based battery, replacing the conventional lead-based battery, in its "Solar Home System" which it started implementing in Tenom, Sabah.
"The green solar battery is lead-free and its components are considered to be environmentally-friendly," said ETI Tech chief technology officer Y K Khor.
